Michael Jordan Believes Dream Team Is Smarter Than Current Team USA

Michael Jordan has voiced his opinion again on the Dream Team vs. 2012 Team USA debate, according to a USA Today article MJ was quoted as saying "Kobe thought we were a little old, but only two players were over 30....One thing 2012 lacked was size".  He goes on to say "We were much more solid defensively...they only had one shot blocker."  He summed up his view on the debate with "debates won't end because we will never know...the only way it'll end is if we lace them up in 2012, and I don't think that will happen."  It's MJ, greatest athlete in the history of sports, don't care to argue, he's the GOAT.  Watch this great video of the Dream Team in Barcelona 1992.

LOL Video: Leandro Barbosa Crosses Andres Nocioni

The theme of this year's Olympic Men's Basketball has been "if you guard me 1 on 1, you will get crossed"...for the third time in the last week, an NBA player has been crossed up badly.  This time the victim was the ex NBA Forward Andres Nocioni getting shook by Indiana Paces and starting Point Guard for Brazil's national team Leandro Barbosa.  I think Nocioni made Deron Williams and James Harden look good...maybe that's why he's now out of the league.  Sheesh....

 

Liberian Jangy Addy Making Move Up Decathlon Leaderboard

Jangy Addy, the last hope for Liberia's chances to medal at this year's Olympics is moving up the leaderboard in the decathlon.  Addy won Heat 1 of the Men's 400M with a time of 48.64 seconds, and in the High Jump he placed 10th in Group B with a mark of 6'4".  Earlier today in the Discus Throw Addy came in 4th in Group A with a 149' 7 3/4" mark and placed 5th in Heat 4 of the 110M Hurdles.  Right now Addy's overall score has him in 12th place with the Pole Vault, Javelin, and 1500M left.  For highlights of Addy winning his 400M Heat, visit... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNeg-XY3NfU&feature=player_embedded#! #AddyForGold! #TeamLIB  

VIDEO: Liberia's Jangy Addy In Thick Of Things In Olympic Men's Decathlon

Liberian track star Jangy Addy has emerged as one of the top athletes in contention for Decathlon Gold!  He came in number one in the Men's100M in Heat 2 after posting a time of 10.89.  In the Shot Put he posted a mark of 49' 1 3/8", good enough for first in Group B.  In the Long Jump portion, he didn't fair as well, finishing twelfth with a high mark of 22' 7 3/4" in Group B.  The High Jump & 400M are the events left on his plate for the day.  Let's cheer Jangy on as he's the last hope for my home country's chances at winning a gold medal in this year's Olympics. Phobay Kutu-Akoi (Women's 100M), Raasin McIntosh (Women's 400M Hurdles), and Liva Saryee (Men's Judo) failed to medal at this year's Olympics but kudos to them for representing Liberia!  The Olympics couldn't go by without me giving my fellow countrymen some love....duh! #AddyForGold!!  Click on this link and go to the 6:00 mark in the video before the 2nd Heat in order to see Jangy represent LIB.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L2eC2Sofhk&feature=player_embedded

Jeah!! Gillette Gives Ryan Lochte Gold Plated Razor

Jeah!!

When you're amongst the top swimmers in the world, endorsements find you.  Here's USA 400 M Swim Champ Ryan Lochte with a gift from one of his sponsors, Gillette gifting him with a custom gold plated set of razors for his performance at this year's Olympics.  Lochte tweeted "U gotta hand it to @Gillette for getting me my own personally gold plated and diamond encrusted razor. #jeah!"  He has eleven Olympic medals throughout his career and is now tied for 2nd all time behind only Michael Phelps in Men's Olympic swinning.  This should go well with his grill.  Mad props to Lochte.

Not Again! Deron Williams Gets Crossed By Argentine PG & Teammates Laugh

That was nasty...I'm trying not to laugh tho!

Last week it was James Harden who got crossed real nasty by Tony Skinn of Nigeria.  Harden tweeted to J.R. Smith saying "combination of floor and shoes. He didn't cross me tho lol".  Well now here's Deron Williams doing the splits in the same spot after getting rocked by an Argentinian player during last night's game in which the U.S. won 126-97.  Watch the video of Lebron and KD laughing at D. Serena Williams is THE BEST women's tennis player in the world right now.  She is arguably the best ever, critics question her work ethic when it comes to all competitions outside of the 4 majors.  They question it because they expect her to win everything.  Well she won double gold with her sister Venus over the weekend and won the women's singles gold medal as well.  Not one to contain her excitement, Serena busts out and represented Compton hard by doing the c-walk.  Get it Serena!!

As great as last night's game was for Team USA in their 83 point beating of Nigeria in men's basketball, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who saw Nigeria's Tony Skinn with this gross cross on James Harden!  Had to find one HIGHlight for the Nigerians.

Badminton Players Booted From The Olympics For Trying To Lose

Trying to lost is not sexy, neither are we...win win.

File this one under WEIRD OLYMPIC SPORTS NEWS OF THE DAY.  8 players from Chinese, South Korean, and the Indonesian national badminton teams were thrown out of the Olympics for trying to lose so that they could face easier competitions in the following rounds.  The players had all qualified for the next round already, but still had other matches to play, which they tried to lose to get an easier pairing in the following round.  Guess I just got the ONLY badminton story I'll ever have in my life!  But seriously, who tries to lose at any sport, let alone badminton?

Olympic Officials Hatin' On Ryan Lotche's Grill

Ryan Lochte is a beast of a swimmer.  He's the next great hope in the pool after US swim team mate and fellow Olympian Michael Phelps.  Lochte won gold in the 400 meter individual medley as he defeated Phelps and the rest of the field.  Lochte has been known to celebrate with his medals around his neck while sporting his 'icy' custom platinum grill in his mouth after races.  According to ESPN's Wayne Drehs when he Lochte tried rocking his grill on the podium, an Olympic official told him that he wouldn't receive his medal if he did.  The Olympic officials must not have heard of SWAG!  Lotche wearing a grill after races isn't anything new as he has numerous photos over the years of him with it in.  Sucks he got tired and lost the lead and they had to settle for silver in the 4x100 meter relays.  Lotche's the man, cool dude, and a #Gator! U.S. Women's Soccer Player Abby Wambach Gets Whacked In The Face And Tweets The Aftermath Photo

The U.S. women's national soccer team played Colombia on Saturday and won 3-0.  The big story however was what appeared to be Abby Wambach getting punched in the eye by a player on the Colombia team while making a forward push towards the Colombia goal.  The refs didn't see the hit apparently because there was NO WAY that should have been a non call, let alone anything short of a red card.  I'm not 100% sure it was intentional, but it sure does look like it.  No sweat though because Abby eventually resumed play after laying on the ground in pain for a couple of minutes and even scored during the game.  Abby tweeted the above photo showing off her battle scar.  Peep the video below of Abby getting whacked!  She's a soldier, and now she has the bruise to prove it.  USA USA USA!!

U.S. Track Star Lolo Jones Showing Off Her Guns With Lebron, Durant, & Chris Paul

Team USA's track star Lolo Jones has made a name for herself on the track as well as off the track, especially when she let the world know that she was a 29 year old virgin.  A media frenzy ensued to figure out who Lolo Jones was.  And several media outlets were quick to try and link her up with fellow Christian all American good boy Tim Tebow simply because of their strong religious faith and virgin proclamations.  She's been in even more controversy for yet another tweet when she insinuated that the US would do better at the gun shooting competition when she tweeted "USA Men's Archery lost the gold medal to Italy but that's ok, we are Americans... When's da Gun shooting competition"... of course in the wake of the recent tragedy in Colorado everything involving shooting is a bit of a sore subject so there's another firestorm involving Lolo and tweeting.  I'm sure she meant no harm.  Above is a pic of Jones posing with CP3, KD, and Bron Bron in London as they're all vying for Gold!  I personally love her...

The Royal Family Announces Olympic Events They Will Be Attending

The Royal Family has announced the events which they'll attend this year at the London 2012 Olympics, this according to a report by Fox Sports.  Prince Charles, his wife Camilla, Prince Harry, William and his wife Kate will all be attending the opening ceremony where Queen Elizabeth will open the ceremony.  William, Kate and Harry are official ambassadors for the Great Britain team.  The Queen's grandaughter, Zara Philips is a competitor in the equestrian events.  Here's a video of Harry racing against Usain Bolt of Jamaica earlier this year on an official visit....

Team USA vs. Great Britain Basketball Highlights

Here are the highlights from team USA's demolishing if Great Britain in an Olympic exhibition game.  Camelo and Deron Williams led team USA with 19 points.  Lebron had 16 points to help beat a British team that featured fellow NBAers Luol Deng (Chicago Bulls) Joel Freeland (Portland Trailblazers).

Caster Semenya, the female track star from South Africa will be carrying around her nation's flag at the opening ceremony in London for the Olympics.  Semenya was forced to pull out of the 2008 Beijing Games due to many questiong her gender because of her strong features.  She didn't compete for 11 months while the Internation Association of Athletics Federation ran gender tests on her, which proved that she's 100% female after which she was cleared to run again in 2010.  Good luck to her!
